Situated at the south of Larnaca, these towns (Kiti & Pervolia especially so) are firm favourites with many visitors to the region. Whilst Makenzy is actually a suburb of Larnaca and Mazotos is a small village some twelve miles south-west of the town, Kiti and Pervolia are located just to the south of the local salt-lakes, near the appropriately enough named Cape Kiti. The main landmark in Kiti village has to be ’Panagia Aggeloktisti’, an ancient church containing a famous mosaic of the Virgin Mary which is actually under UNESCO protection. A largely self-sufficient community, Kiti Village is home to an easygoing mixture of Cypriots and British expatriates who cheerfully interact both professionally and socially, thus creating a very hospitable environment in which to live.
